Some people think that there is no need for advertising a product that has good quality, while others believe an advertisement is necessary for any product.

Many people think that a good quality product will sell itself and advertising excellent products is unnecessary while other think that advertisements are necessary to boost awareness of any product. I’m of the opinion that high quality products are highly sought after and advertising them is not required, however brand awareness and consumer education can only be achieved through advertising campaigns. Word of mouth creates demand for such products. One example that I can think of is the Iphone. It is probably the best phone in the market. People who have used it cannot live without it. They talk about the Iphone to their friends and family creating a desire in people who don’t have it to buy it. There could still be remote places on Earth where this product may not be known. In such places, advertisements play a role in educating potential consumers. Advertisements serve two purposes, one is selling a product and another is to establish a brand. Often times we see product ads, but there are also the brand awareness ads, where the brand is associated with performance, durability and high quality. Brand ads are much needed. People get to know of products that are out there in the markets.

Firstly, advertisements motivate people to buy products, they inspire and connect the needs to their wants. Nike ads always feature top athletes connecting their brand to high performance. Psychologically this links the image of the athlete to the brand and the consumer starts perceiving the brand as a necessity to perform well just like those athletes in the ads. This positions the product as premium, desirable and necessary for anyone into sports or anyone who wants to project the image of a high achiever. That’s why advertising is a powerful tool for increasing sales and positioning the product in people’s minds. Perception of quality is essential before one experiences the product itself.

On the other hand, advertising high quality individual products may not be necessary. they are mere entertainment and don’t really serve any purpose. They don’t create demand that isn’t already there. People purchase a product only when they need to and ads don’t make anyone buy a product if they don’t need it.

To conclude, the best products do not require advertisements, whereas advertisements of brands and new products which have not yet built a reputation for themselves is an absolute necessity.

Sample answer for: Some people think that there is no need for advertising a product that has good quality, while others believe an advertisement is necessary for any product.

Some argue that high-quality products sell themselves without the need for advertising, while others contend that advertisements are essential for all products to enhance visibility. I believe that while superior products can generate organic demand, strategic advertising is crucial for maximizing market reach and establishing brand identity.

High-quality products often benefit from word-of-mouth promotion, which can create substantial demand without heavy advertising. For instance, premium brands like Apple rely on customer loyalty and organic buzz generated by satisfied users who share their experiences. The iPhone’s reputation for innovation and reliability drives sales in many markets, suggesting that exceptional quality can indeed reduce reliance on traditional advertising. In such cases, consumer trust becomes a powerful marketing tool.

However, advertising remains indispensable for broadening market presence and shaping brand perception. Effective campaigns, such as Nike’s, leverage endorsements from elite athletes to associate their products with excellence and aspiration. These advertisements not only inform potential customers but also create an emotional connection, transforming wants into perceived needs. Moreover, in less accessible markets or for new products, advertising educates consumers, ensuring visibility where organic demand is insufficient. Brand-focused campaigns further reinforce a company’s values, fostering long-term loyalty.

In conclusion, while high-quality products can thrive on their merits, advertising amplifies their success by enhancing visibility and building brand equity. A balanced approach, combining product excellence with targeted campaigns, ensures both immediate sales and sustained market dominance, catering to diverse consumer needs and preferences.
